The Undergrads: ----
Braden Mackenzie Kilpatrick 19 - Junior - International Relations Major Special: Football Team - Quarterback Dating Jenna Bradshaw Chris Evans
Braden is the undisputed leader of the “in” crowd. He was a recruit from high school, and while he spent his freshman year on the bench, he got his chance to shine sophomore year when the first string quarterback injured his knee in a crucial game. Braden came in, and ended up impressing the coach so much that he was placed as starting quarterback the rest of that season. It worked out, and when the other quarterback transferred the next semester, the spot became Braden’s permanently. He is also dating Jenna Bradshaw, who is co-captain of the cheerleading team. ---
Jenna Louise Bradshaw 18 - Sophomore - Psychology Major Special: Cheerleading - Co-Captain Dating Braden Kilpatrick Sophia Bush
Jenna is the all-American cheerleader type, and has been since high school. She’s been dating Braden Kilpatrick since their senior year in high school, and is the "queen bee" of the undergraduate crowd. They’ve been incredibly happy, but trouble is brewing in paradise, because Jenna’s gotten a little distracted lately by Brett Goforth, her cheerleading co-captain. Brett likes to put his hands places they shouldn’t be, and lately, Jenna’s stopped complaining like she used to. She hasn’t told anyone about this, not even her best friend, Isabel, although Isabel isn’t stupid and has definitely noticed that something’s up. ---
Andrew Bretton “Brett” Goforth III 17 - Freshman - Biology Major Special: Cheerleading - Co-Captain Chad Michael Murray
Brett is lucky enough to be one of only two guys on the cheerleading team, and as such, ended up being co-captain of the team during his freshman year. He’s very good at it, but he has a tendency to get distracted, especially by Jenna Bradshaw. Brett’s had his eye on her since the beginning of the year, and lately, it feels like she might be flirting back. But she wouldn’t do that; she’s dating Braden, everyone’s hero, right? And just when things have started to look up for Brett, his twin brother, Jon, transferred here. Brett and Jon haven’t gotten along since their mother died in a car accident when they were fourteen, and now that they’re here, things might be ready to break. ---
Jonathan Dominic Goforth 17- Freshman - Pre-Med Major Special: Lacrosse Team Chad Michael Murray
Jon has secrets of his own, much darker ones than feeling up the girlfriend of the school’s golden boy. He has Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, and he’s trying his hardest to hide it, even from his twin, who has no idea what’s going on. Their father knows, and Jon goes home some weekends for chemo, which is, for now, being given to him on an outpatient basis, but that may change before long. It’s anybody’s guess as to whether he and his brother will manage to patch things up, or whether it’ll be too late by the time Brett realizes what’s wrong. ---
Isabel Morgan de Lancie 18 - Sophomore - Dance Major Hayden Panettiere
Isabel has been Jenna Bradshaw’s best friend since the two of them were eleven, and the only reason she came to this school is because Jenna was going. She’s started to find her place, though, although she sometimes feels a little out of place on the cheerleading team (which she also only tried out for because of Jenna). In fact, she and Jenna seem to have been growing apart in a lot of ways that neither of them have noticed. She knows something’s up with Jenna and Brett, but she can’t quite put her finger on it. She’s a little distracted with her own life, anyway, and trying to hang onto her second-in-command to the queen bee spot is getting harder, particularly with the way she keeps running into Tessa Carter. ---
Theresa Charlotte Carter 17 - Freshman - Theater Major Alison Mack Special: President - University Players
Tessa isn’t the kind of girl who ends up in the popular crowd. First of all, she’s gay, and in spite of the fact that none of her closest friends care, she’s pretty sure it wouldn’t endear her to the popular kids if they knew she was crushing majorly on Isabel de Lancie. It doesn’t make it any easier that she keeps running into Isabel - everywhere. And it doesn’t help that she can’t seem to talk normally or not blush bright red everytime that happens. It’s particularly hard because Isabel is all but perfect, and there’s no way she’d go for a girl like Tessa even if she wasn’t 100% straight, right? ---
Larkin Rei Manning 20 - Junior - Sociology Major Special: Resident Assistant - Comanche Hall Girls' Wing Basketball Team Dating Alex Whitlock Katherine Heigl
Larkin is here with her younger brother, Sidney. They were sent here by their parents for the same reason many students are, to get a good education. Things looked amazing for Larkin; she excelled in almost all of her classes, and sophomore year, she applied and was accepted for an RA position in Comanche Hall. She has a life a lot of students would envy, especially since she's dating Alex Whitlock, goalkeeper for the school's soccer team. She's on the basketball team, too, and does relatively well at it. But Larkin and Alex might be in for a little more trouble than they were looking for because, although she doesn't know it yet, that wild night they had after the mid-term party resulted in her getting pregnant. ---
Alexander Calvin Whitlock 20 - Junior - Strategic Communication Major Special: Soccer team - Goalkeeper Dating Larkin Manning Channing Tatum
Alex's life, it seems, goes the way other people wish their lives would go. He's got a 3.9 GPA, plays starting keeper for the UNMLA Cavaliers soccer team, and has a gorgeous girlfriend. Only his gorgeous girlfriend is pregnant - and Alex was about to break up with her because he's discovered that he has feelings for Austin Taylor, the girl who tutors him in all his math classes (who's partially responsible for his amazing grades). It's taken him a while to come to terms with the fact that he's not in love with Larkin anymore, but he's just about ready to tell her the truth. He'd never cheat on her, he's not that kind of guy, but he's been getting up the guts to break up with her for almost a month now. That was before the pregnancy, though...what's going to happen when he finds out? ---
Austin Olivia Taylor 19 - Sophomore - Mathematics Major Special: President of the math club Anne Hathaway
Austin hasn't missed a soccer game since her freshman year, for one reason; the world's biggest crush on the Cavaliers' goalkeeper, Alex. She's liked him since she met him, and when he asked her to tutor him, she agreed without hesitation. It was always a hopeless crush kind of thing, but lately, it seems like Alex might be returning her affections. And maybe, just maybe, he'll break up with Larkin for her, although that really seems unlikely. But what if he does like her? She's not sure what to think, all she can do for now is hope. ---
Sidney Brian Manning 18 - Freshman - Chemistry Major Special: Basketball team Jason Behr
Sidney has looked up to his older sister for as long as he can remember, but here, it seems like he's finally stepping out of her shadow. But the new friends he's making are the wrong sort of crowd, and he's been experimenting with some drugs and things he probably shouldn't. He's already been arrested once since he got here, and if he's not careful, it could happen again. ---
Nathaniel Edward Calloway 21 - Senior - Marketing Major Brendon Urie
Nate is the undisputed party animal of the school. He lives off-campus in a house he can only afford because of "donations" from usual partygoers (most of Nate's parties have a five dollar entry fee, but once you're in, he has an open bar and you can find pretty much any sort of drink you're looking for). He and his roommate, Aiden, are known for being able to throw the best parties around, and pretty much anyone, regardless of their social group, comes to at least a few of them before they graduate. He's also dating two separate girls, Gabrielle Pollard and Sophie O'Neill, right now, unbeknownst to either of them. ---
Aiden Faraday Elijah Ellis Slayton 20 - Junior - Music Major Ryan Ross
Aiden, or "Afee" as he is known, is Nate's best friend and wingman. He helps with the behind the scenes work at the parties, and even DJs sometimes when they don't have the money to hire someone. He covers for Nate when Nate is going out with one of his girlfriends, but lately, he's started feeling guilty about it - maybe because he likes Sophie just a little bit and feels bad about lying to her. But Nate's been like a brother to him since they were in high school, and he can't betray his best friend's trust...can he? ---
Gabrielle Lorelei Pollard 21 - Senior - English Major Kristen Bell
Gabbi has been dating Nate for about a year now, and she feels like they have a real connection. He's too busy to go out sometimes, but she understands; after all, he's pretty much the party god of UNMLA. She likes him, but has no idea that he's going out with Sophie behind her back. Anyway, she has enough problems to keep her busy because she's been trying to keep up her grades so her parents don't cut off her funding. What would she do without the money that comes from home? ---
Sophie Meredith O'Neill 19 - Sophomore - Mid-Level Education Major Katie Holmes
Sophie is sure she's the only girl in Nate's life, but she's a little naive. Sweet, but naive. She doesn't have a clue that he's running around with Gabbi, and if she did, she'd probably be broken-hearted. She's liked him for over a year now, and he's finally paying her the attention she wants. Everything's cool, right?
The Graduate Students ---
Corban Michael Prewitt 23 - Early European History Josh Hartnett
Corban is a bright young man, the son of two doctors who decided to apply his intelligence elsewhere. He is newly married, and is struggling to keep his marriage intact and keep up with his studies as well, because his wife, Andreya, is in a completely different field of study at a completely different school and they don't get to see each other as often as they did when they were in college. And lately, he's been increasingly drawn to his graduate advisor, who, in spite of the fact that she is four years older than he is, seems to enjoy spending time with him a lot more than one would expect. ---
Preston Oliver Fisher 24 - Immunology Shane West
Preston is Corban's best friend, and has been since they came to UNM as freshmen. He's Corban's wingman, and is the walking definition of loyalty. He's something of a science nerd, and has always done very well in his classes. But Preston's girlfriend, Sara, recently broke up with him after revealing to him that she cheated on him with her best friend's brother, and Preston overreacted, going to confront him. He and the guy, Randy, got into a huge fight, and Preston finally landed a blow that knocked him unconscious. He left Randy's house and went home to cool off. But the next day, the police found Randy - and he was dead. Turns out he got drunk and hit his head on the sharp corner of a piece of furniture, but it was obvious that he was in a fight, and now they're looking for the guy who did it. Sara didn't know that Preston was going to see Randy, but it's easy to put two and two together, so it's probably only a matter of time before it all comes down. ---
Sara Annalise Holland 23 - Communication Theory Scarlett Johansson
Sara never meant to cheat on Preston with Randy, but it was one of those things that just happened, and she was woman enough to admit what she'd done and break things off with Preston after she did so. She was devastated when she heard about Randy's death, and immediately blamed Preston, who, after all, had the most obvious motive. She's determined to see him punished for it, but she blames herself too, because after all, it's partially her fault that he was mad at Randy in the first place. ---
The Professors --- Gabriel Peter Ferris 31 - Ph.D., Stage Acting Christian Bale
Professor Ferris, or "G" as he's known to the theatre students, is incredibly well-liked, and directs the school's productions, which occur twice a semester. He has recently written a play of his own, though, and at request from the Humanities division chair, has brought in another, slightly well-known director to head the production. What he doesn't know is that Logan Donohue is just a stage name for Damon Irving, the man who helped him discover the fact that he's gay, and the only stable long-term relationship Gabriel has ever had. Logan's set to arrive in a week, and Gabriel still doesn't know that the person he's going to have to spend the next three months with is the man who broke his heart. ---
Damon Irving 30 - Master's, Stage Production Johnny Depp
Damon Irving was twenty when he met Gabriel Ferris, and he knew from the moment he saw him that he wanted him. And he succeeded in that ambition. For four years, the two were nearly inseparable, before Damon was offered a job in California after earning his Master's. He took it, leaving Gabriel behind in Massachusetts, and their relationship didn't last long after that. He's been invited to come direct a theatre production at UNMLA, though, and he has no idea that he'll have to be working with Gabriel, who he hasn't spoken to in nearly five years. ---
Elisabeth Danielle Anderson 27 - Ph. D. Early European History Diane Kruger
Dr. Elisabeth Anderson is one of the most mysterious professors at UNMLA. She doesn't talk much to students outside of class or graduate work, and her enigmatic personal history is a matter of debate (and even betting) amongst the students. But lately, she's started spending a little more time than anyone knows with one of her graduate students, Corban Prewitt. It's apparent that there's tension between them, and they've been in some uncomfortable situations before one of them breaks the silence and makes up an excuse for leaving. After all, Corban's married, and Elisabeth is his advisor. She could get fired for that sort of thing. But is that enough to stop this? ---
If you want to play a canon, just go ahead! Make sure they aren't already taken, though. If you want to reserve one, reply to this thread. You can reserve a canon for up to five days, after which point they'll be re-opened if you haven't posted an app. Canons in italic are reserved, canons that are struck-through are taken. Also, some canons have particular clubs or athletics they belong to, but that doesn't mean you have to limit them to that. That's just the basics. Feel free to elaborate on them however you like; give them a past, anything you want. (If it's something huge, like having killed someone, having been attacked, having a life-threatening illness, be sure to run it by myself or Zakhar first.
More canons to come!
